The first shot with a first film SLR provides encouraging results, even on a gloomy day. Class 50 No. 50018 'Resolution' has just threaded the Goring Gap on the down main between Reading and Didcot with an unknown express on 12th February 1981. Streatley Hill in the background marks the continuation of the Chiltern escarpment, pierced here by the Thames Valley.
