Gorgeous late afternoon sunshine lights up this view of a long train of empty coal wagons, most of which are curving away down the valley, on the final stage of the climb of Cajon Pass from the San Bernardino side on an unrecorded date in November 2000. Union Pacific GE Class AC4400CW No. 6456 leads the way with Southern Pacific classmate No. 306 behind. A second pair of UP locos, possibly EMD SD70s with flared radiators, is needed for the loaded haul.
