Quite some Class 47 this - with a 3300hp engine! The test-bed loco here known as Class 47/9 No. 47901 works through the avoiding line at Salisbury with a stone empties returning to the Somerset Quarries some time during September 1984. The vivid red buffer beam marked this out as something special - until it was re-liveried in standard Railfreight grey.
