A rather unkempt Class 47/0 No. 47258 is working hard keeping this long car train on the move on the up relief near White Waltham on 11th May 1982. The load appears to be new Ford Escorts off the production line at Halewood, probably destined for dealerships in London and the South East. Interesting to speculate how many are still around 40 years later (cars or dealers).
