An unconventional view of a speeding freight train designed to illustrate the imposing loading gauge of American locomotives and the light touch taken to protecting trains and road users with flashing lights and token half barriers - the track is not fenced off from the general public. There have been enough staged crashes in feature films made just down the road in Hollywood for people to know not to argue with these behemoths. The train of chemical tankers is heading inland at Ontario on the east side of Los Angeles on an unrecorded date in November 2000. Southern Pacific EMD SD50 No. 5513 is a slightly more powerful variant of the two SD40s up front.
