On the hottest day of the year so far a super-power combo of Class 59/2 locos, with No. 59206 leading No. 59202, hurries through Hungerford with the 10:26 Whatley Quarry to Hanwell Bridge Loop on 25th June 2024. The heavy aggregates service was delayed out of Woodborough loop by the preceding 08:35 Plymouth to London Paddington IET express which had been unable to keep to schedule, no doubt due to high track temperatures.
