Steamtown Carnforth were commissioned to produce a non-functioning replica of a Victorian GWR steam loco for the Royalty and Empire exhibition at Windsor Central station, based in an unused portion of the capacious building immediately across the road from the monarch's principal residence. Seen on an unrecorded date in July 1991, the presentation of 4-2-2 No. 3031 'The Queen', along with royal carriages, is quite convincing without looking too closely at what is 'under the bonnet'.
