HST set No. 253008 runs fast through Slough on the up main, passing Class 08 No. 08630 allocated to work the sidings at Salt Hill to the west of the station on 19th April 1977. The sidings used to run into the Trading Estate, whose own power station is visible beyond the housing. In the foreground the remaining trackwork from the steam shed and west curve from Windsor lies disconnected from the network.
