Class 59/0 No. 59005 tops the climb to Savernake Summit with the early afternoon empties to Merehead Quarry, comprising 44 wagons from Acton on 21st March 2018. Difficult to picture here the former Savernake (Low Level), GWR junction for Marlborough occupying the summit cutting. All that remains is the crossover which May have lived on for use during engineering possessions, but which NR are now in the process of removing.
