Almost perfect light for heavy-haul Class 66/6 No. 66619 'Derek W. Johnson MBE' as it trundles along the Kennet Valley on the outskirts of Newbury with the lunchtime Whatley Quarry to Churchyard Sidings aggregates on 2nd June 2023. Half way along the train was the location of Enborne Junction where the Newbury-Southampton section of the DN&S turned off, its southbound course much of it overlaid now by the upgraded A34 trunk road seen on the distant overbridge.
