Freightliner inherited a number of liveries on the Class 59 locos they acquired in taking on the haulage contract for Mendip Rail. Not surprisingly they have been steadily working through the Class 59/2s removing vestiges of their previous DB Cargo ownership. No. 59206 was the first of the class to be given the American treatment nearly two years ago and it still looks commendably fresh as it brings the Wembley Sidings to Merehead empties through Hungerford rather later than usual on 22nd February 2022. Class 66/5 No. 66549 is the spare loco working back to base, the shiny locos contrasting with the rather work-weary looking collection of stone wagons of various types.
