Class 47/0 No. 47230 gets way from Arpley Junction with its train of empty MGR wagons heading south for the next load of coal for Fiddlers Ferry power station on 13th July 1983. The yard at Arpley is busy with a number Class 25s, together with two Class 40s. The massive steel girder bridge across the Mersey is visible in the background.
