Warrington was originally a 19th century stronghold of the LNWR but a consortium of other companies managed to gain a foothold with the Cheshire Lines Committee, whose lines ran east-west through the area. In fact their station for Warrington is closer to the centre than the better-known Bank Quay. This unidentified DMU is running by the goods yard to the east of Warrington Central on 10th July 1983, with the impressive spire of St Elphin's church prominent in the background.
