The goods yard at Warrington Central was provided with a substantial storage facility by the Cheshire Lines Committee for the use of its three pre-grouping constituent companies - the Great Northern, Great Central and Midland. On 10th July 1983 the goods yard and shed seem to be largely out of use and neglected, but even in this state the building impresses with the care put into its design and construction during the late-Victorian era. The names of the companies are 'cast in stone' and meant to stay, the CLC even remaining independent until nationalisation.
