In the gathering dusk the Midland Pullman HST set with Class 43 No. 43049 leading comes barreling through Hungerford with the return working of a Norwich to Paignton excursion on 21st August 2024. The low light level has dictated a head-on shot for clarity as the train negotiates the 75mph curve. The HST stop signs make an ironic appearance as it is some years since HSTs provided regular services on the line.
