Saphos Trains' Cotswolds Explorer has had to be re-routed on 8th April 2023 due to the closure of the line to Oxford over the damaged Nuneham viaduct and has become an out-and-back excursion to Worcester from Norwich, via Swindon and the Golden Valley. LNER 4-6-0 No. 61306 'Mayflower' has taken over the train at Hanwell, but late departure from the changeover means that it is now some 40 minutes behind schedule after knock on delays on the busy high speed GW main line. The accompanying SLS Class 47 diesel is providing additional assistance as the train accelerates away from its water stop at Challow, seen here at speed near Shrivenham approaching Swindon.
