In Bulgaria the majority of Romanian built Class 55 diesel shunters are the domain of the Bulgarian State run Railway, BDZ. But in recent years a number have appeared in private operator liveries and branding. Ruse-based BULMARKET has acquired three examples of which 55238 is pictured at Ilijanci on 24th September 2022, looking rather smart in Bulmarkets black and red flying horse livery. A second identical BULMARKET Class 55 No. 55 229 was also noted in action at this location on the northern outskirts of Sofia.
