With the majority of the class withdrawn and scrapped it is unclear just how many of the classic RVR Class 32 Electric Multiple Units remain in service in 2024. My personal observations amount to 12 examples still hard at work but there could and almost certainly be more. During the summer in a surprise move the type once again has returned to the Sofia area following an absence of some 15 years after they were replaced by SIEMENS Desiro Class 30 and Class 31 EMUs. Unfortunately they are prime targets for the graffiti brigade so consequently all sets have what can only be described as a unique appearance. Heading south at Kurilo on 25th September 2024 Set 32-037/32-038 is recorded suitably vandalised when working the late afternoon ORDINARY 20104 (14:20) Vraca-Mezdra-Sofia Central service.
