BDZ Class 52 shunters are still a common sight across the Bulgarian railway network despite the original number of one hundred and twenty seven examples being greatly reduced in number. This is Plovdiv main station on 13th October 2024 which, like Sofia Central is undergoing major renovation to the track layout. In this scene with Plovdiv MPD providing the backdrop diesel-hydraulic type D 0-4-0 No. 52-067 rests between shunting duties. The yard on the eastern side of the Depot contains two additional examples plus three SKODA electric locomotives, of the latter including 44-309 following recent fire damage.
