Celebrating the recent return of GWR 4-6-0 No. 7029 'Clun Castle' to the main line after an absence of 31 years, we see it here in the last year of its previous mainline service with The Chilternian railtour on 30th April 1988. Appropriately enough it is returning to London on the Chiltern line, perhaps better known in the past as the GW & GC Jt direct line to Paddington and Marylebone respectively. The train has just entered the 'new' section where the original Wycombe Railway diverges towards Maidenhead and is leaving High Wycombe on the climb to White House tunnel.
