Datchet is the last stop on the southern electric branch line from Staines before the terminus at Windsor and Eton Riverside. Commuters from this station are experiencing the relatively new sliding-door stock of this Class 455/8 No. 5832 on 11th October 1983. When introduced these EMUs continued to be numbered sequentially in the SR electric stock book, before it became standard to incorporate the Class number in the unit ID.
