On 19th December 2017, South West Trains-liveried 159013 working the 12:25 Exeter St.Davids to London Waterloo service has been brought to a stand in Chard Junction loop to allow the late running 10:20 Waterloo to Exeter St.Davids service led by SWT Class 158 No. 158885 to clear the single line section from Crewkerne and Yeovil Junction. Once an hourly occurrence prior to the doubling of the line through Axminster station the passing of SWT Class 159 units at this location has now become a much rarer sight.
