BDZ PP (Bulgarian State run Railway Passenger Division) SIEMENS Desiro Class 31 EMU set No. 31019/31020 approaches Dragichevo on LINE 500:600 on 19th June 2017. It has charge of service SUB 50215 (17:25) Sofia to Pernik. Two classes of these EMU's are in service with BDZ PP; 15 three-car sets Class 30 plus 10 four-car sets designated Class 31 deliveries of which began in 2007. Desiros were primarily intended for short-medium length journeys. Problems with vandals throwing stones and breaking windows and windscreens has resulted in many being out of use ultimately leading to stock shortages. Replacement windscreens are very expensive!.
