Sofia-Sever and the early morning rush on 24th September 2024 is over. BDZ PP SIEMENS Desiro EMUs 30-021/30-022 and 31-001/31-002 had previously arrived from the north on separate services but were soon formed together prior to working ECS into Sofia Central station to stable. Vitosha Mountain and the city of Sofia beneath it form the backdrop here, the northern side of which consisting of classic Soviet-era architecture, ie blocks of flats for the workers. Sofia-Sever is currently being used as a major terminating point for the majority of services arriving into the capital from the north on LINE 2 from departure points such as Vraca, Mezdra, Gorna-Oryahovitsa, Ruse and Varna.
