Sofia-Sever (Sofia North) is currently being used to terminate all loco-hauled services heading into the capital via LINE No. 2. Consequently this location is much busier then normal with run-round manoeuvres being performed between EMU arrivals and departures. Each afternoon a BDZ loco would work ECS from Sofia Central to Sofia-Sever the long way round via Kazichene, Yana and Iliyantsi. The lengthy rake of coaching stock will be split into three to provide three separate consists for early evening northbound departures. Following arrival with said ECS the assigned loco will run-round prior to working the first of the northbound services. Rostered for this duty on this occasion BDZ PP SIEMENS Smartron 80-053 'CZAR KONSTANTINE ASEN' is captured passing the derelict Sofia-Sever North Box on 21st October 2024 prior to departure with the FAST7624 (17:11) service to Vidin.
