What makes railway photography in Bulgaria so enjoyable is that most trains are still loco-hauled together with the lack of prohibitive fencing across the railway network. This chosen spot has produced a fine study of Mezdra-based SKODA 44-197 passing through Kumaritsa in the Novi Iskar region with BDZ PP train service ICF7621 (04:50) Vidin to Sofia Sever (Sofia North) on 25th September 2024. The high ground in the distance is the mountainous terrain in which one will find the stunning Iskar Gorge together with main line No. 2 that runs directly through it to and from Mezdra.
