In Luxembourg on 1st April 2018, low floor tram No. 106 pulls out of the Depot and maintenance facility located near the initial and current northern terminus at Luxexpo that also houses the lines control room and Luxtrams headquarters. The first section of Luxembourgs new tramway system opened on 10th December 2017, serving eight stops on Avenue J.F.Kennedy over a 2.85 mile section from Luxexpo to the equally new CFL Funicular Railway, terminating just short of the Pont rouhge Bridge that spans the Alzette Valley. By 2023 the humble beginnings had been extended across the bridge to provide a connection with Luxembourgs main railway station in the city centre. More expansion is currently planned and under construction including a northern connection to the airport at Findel due to be operational in early 2024.
