In Bulgaria the Class 51 diesel shunters that once numbered 75 examples when introduced into traffic during the 1960s have, as one would expect, diminished massively in number over the years. At least one example is still very much in service in 2022. Based in the Sofia area 51150 belonging to the Sofia-based private operator TTL EOOD is captured at Iliyantsi on 4th September 2022. Following a brief pause in the station area 51150 continues forward to position a rake of empty cement wagons that it has just tripped-in from a local facility into the yard for onward transit. The Vitosha Mountain range and a glimpse of the urban sprawl of Sofia can just be seen in the background.
