SNCB (Belgian National Railways) Bombardier/Alstom Type AM96 three-car sets No. 515 and 516 pass through Bertrange/Strassen at speed working an Intercity service from Brussels-Midi to Luxembourg on 30th December 2016. Built between 1996 and 1999 there are two versions of these units, 3000V DC (Set Nos. 501-570) and a separate batch of dual-voltage sets (441-490) that are equipped to operate into France. Luxembourg services are operated by units 501-524 that are suitably equipped to work on Line 50 into Luxembourg City. The somewhat distinctive front end design is based on the successful 'rubber nose' of the Danish IC3 DMU's.
