Illuminated by the very last rays of the sun TBD TP Electroputere LH5100 Class 46 No. 91 52 0046 014-4 (46-014) in company with Class 06 No. 92 52 0006 302-0 (06-302) has just arrived into Voluyak double-heading a rake of empty coal hoppers from the southwest of the country. Both locomotives are executing a required run-round manoeuvre to change direction and continue the journey west towards the open cast mines close to the Serbian border that fuel Bulgarian power stations in the region. The latest edition to the TBD fleet, 46-014, makes an interesting comparison with BDZ Cargo 46-037 alongside waiting departure time with a tank working. Most of the latter will be found in a similar grubby condition such as this although BDZ TP is gradually refurbishing the Class 46 pool at a steady if not slow pace. Image recorded at Voluyak freight yard on 21st October 2024.
