BULMARKET Class 86 No. 86-008 'Soren Hjorth' captured at Iliyantsi with a rake of HiCRi ERCiLi Aluminium Liquid Sulphate tanks on 24th September 2024. This Ruse-based company specializing both in the production and transportation of LPG, mineral oils and bio-diesel acquired a fleet of ten examples of these Bo-Bo 4000kW type EA3000 electric locomotives second hand from DSB in Denmark. Built between 1984-1986 and acquired by BULMARKET from 2007 onwards, reports suggest that not all of the ten remain in service in 2024. It would appear that 86-002 was completely destroyed by fire in 2012 with 86-003 being involved in two serious incidents, the most recent a double-heading derailment in Plovdiv station. Turning to the consist, HiCRi ERCil is a Turkish company currently the largest producer in Europe of Aluminium Sulphate which in addition to many other products is widely used in the agriculture and industrial sectors.
