Mezdra station on the sunny morning of 22nd April 2016 a little after 8am. BDZ PP Class 44 No. 44-137 arrives from the south with express service EXP2601 (06:40) Sofia to Varna. Fellow SKODA 68E No. 44-179 has already run round it's coaches to form a Mezdra to Vraca service. Mezdra is an important junction to destinations in the far northwest of the country as well has having a sizable motive Depot situated at the eastern end of the station area.
