Early evening at Kulata on 16th May 2023 and the International train service INT361 (15:30) from Sofia has reached journey's end. Still carrying the original express livery with large body-side number and BDZ logo with red loco number plates 46-229 begins the run-round manoeuvre to form the return service ORD501343 to Dupnitsa. Despite still being billed as an International service from the capital currently there is no onward connection across the border into Greece. Certainly not by train, or road it would seem. This connection ceased during the Covid pandemic and as yet has not been reinstated.
