LNER A3 Class Pacific No. 60103 Flying Scotsman and LMS Black 5 Class 4-6-0 No. 44871 make a spirited departure away from Taunton on 4th October 2018, with the (16:55) Taunton to Plymouth Cathedrals Express charter. The pair had earlier worked a westbound charter from Theale to the Somerset town. It was a one way trip for the clientele on board behind the Scotsman. Following arrival the steam was removed for servicing while West Coast Class 47 No. 47760 returned the train and passengers back to Theale and then to run ECS back to Taunton in readiness for the afternoon departure to Plymouth. A somewhat unusual itinerary.
