Situated immediately above the running lines of the purpose-built CFL inter-change station at Pfaffenthal is the lower station of the Luxembourg CFL Funicular. The latter connects the main line station to Luxembourg's predominantly business area on the Kirchberg Plateau. Opened to the travelling public in 2017 this image looking in a westerly direction was recorded a few months later on 1st April 2018. As with all public transport within Luxembourg the short trip which rises through 40 metres in just 63 seconds is free of charge to all, locals and tourists alike.
