Early 2023 sees a surprising return of SIEMENS DMU sets to the Levski to Svishtov branch in Northern Bulgaria. When new, SIEMENS DMU's were initially deployed on this route replacing the traditional Class 55 loco hauled stock. But their stay was short lived after the first winter proved them to be unsuitable for a route that can suffer from considerable snowfall during the winter months. Set No. 10015/10016 reaches the outskirts of Svishtov on 13th March with the SUB 24204 10:30 departure from Levski. The destination screen is conveniently translated for us by the town boundary sign on the extreme left of the image.
