By late 2009 the major upgrade of Axminster station and the laying of a new three mile passing loop was well underway. The scene is recorded here on 29th September 2009 as South West Trains Class 159 DMU No. 159015 arrives with an Exeter St. Davids to London Waterloo service. Once completed, SWT services were re-timed to pass at Axminster with the additional pathing stop at Chard Junction being no longer required.
