Bulgarian State run Railway (BDZ) Skoda Class 61 No. 61012 stands at Sofia's Zaharna Fabrika station on 23rd June 2018, soon to depart on the final couple of miles into Sofia Central station. It is assigned to a local train service from the south routing via Blagoevgrad, Dupnica and Pernik. Many quite lengthy passenger services saw use of the Class 61 Electric Shunter Locomotives during 2017/2018 to cover for a shortage of main line motive power.
