The Great Western Limited was a series of steam specials held in conjunction with GW150 celebrations in 1985. Today's run on 7th April 1985 from Paddington to Plymouth was supposed to be steam-hauled onwards from Bristol TM. Unfortunately the 'King' was failed at Taunton while the 'Manor' failed at Exeter St Davids both with a hot box. So it is down to Class 37 No. 37007 with an unidentified classmate to complete the journey - seen here tackling the gradient steepening to 1 in 47 on Rattery bank leaving Totnes on Brunel's atmospheric railway route.
