Dwarfing local onlookers the returning 'THE DAY OF BOZATA' tour from Radomir to Sofia hurries through the western edge of Zapenden Park on 20th October 2024. This out and back day trip from Sofia to Radomir was organised by BDZ PP (Bulgarian state run Railway Passenger Division) to celebrate the day of a locally produced drink, Bozata. Bulgarians are not short of occasions for an excuse for a celebration! Motive power for the trip was provided by Sofia-based Class 2-8-2 No. 01.23 (Winterthur 3593/1935), a regular performer on main line steam tours in Bulgaria. Zapenden Park (Western Park) is to be found on the outer suburbs of Sofia, a most unusual popular local park with a fully active main line running through it!.
