BDZ 'Attraction Train' No.AT6583 heads west away from Sofia with an out and back day trip to Radomir in southwestern Bulgaria. The tour was organised to celebrate 'The Day of Bozata', a popular Bulgarian drink that originated from the Radomir area. Rather like a very thick milkshake with an oaty flavour from which it is made. The outbound run was by way of Voluyak, Razmenna and Pernik returning late afternoon by the more direct route through Vladaya and Gorna Banya. BDZ Swiss-built Mikado Class 2-8-2 (Winterthur 3593/1935) No. 01.23 races through Obeyla in the glorious early morning sunshine of 20th October 2024.
