Taking a breather at Iskar on the southern outskirts of the capital City of Sofia with a westbound Inter-modal working are DB CARGO (Bulgaria) Class 86 Electrics 86-016 and 86-012. The main line west of Sofia into Serbia and beyond is currently undergoing major reconstruction between Slivnitsa and Dragoman resulting in daytime closures of the route. These Karlovo-based electrics will almost certainly head west once the blockade is lifted. This image was recorded on 22nd March 2024. The daytime engineering and subsequent track possessions are expected to continue until December 2024.
