Most of the commuters cars have cleared the car park by the time today's returning York - Paignton excursion train speeds through Hungerford on 9th July 2024. Class 43 No. 43055 is cruising down the gradient while giving off a modest diesel clag which is about to turn black as the driver opens up for the fast run through the Kennet Valley. Classmate No. 43046 at the rear of this long HST set is also contributing to the task of staying ahead of a closely following GWR IET service.
