The railway architecture at Shrewsbury is mock-Tudor with stone-mullioned windows - to fit in with the neighbouring ancient public school. Two northbound services are preparing to leave - on the left a Class 103 Park Royal DMU is boarding for Crewe. on the other side a 3-car Swindon cross-country DMU will be taking the GWR route to Chester on a fine Spring day on 15th April 1981.
