On the last weekday of service with the GWR franchise, Class 43 HST power car No. 43185 'Great Western', appropriately enough and in retro Intercity livery, rushes through Hungerford with a warning blast for passengers waiting for the stopping DMU service on 17th May 2019, taking its last express to Paddington. After more than 40 years distinguished service on the western, the remaining HST sets will go off lease, some to new operators, when the summer timetables start next week.
