An HST express from the West Country flashes through the crossing at Hamstead, fast approaching Newbury on a section of the twisty Berks & Hants route where the line speed isph, with the MTU logoed Class 43 No. 43020 in charge on 13th February 2017. Sobering to reflect that the bottom of one of its bogie wheels is instantaneously stationary on the railhead while the top is travelling at overph, then a half turn later the situation is reversed, and all the while the bottom of the wheel flange is travelling backwards!
