Back on one of its old haunts, D1000 Class No. D1015 'Western Champion' (showing as No. D1058 'Western Nobleman' for the day on this side, at least) is making its own contribution to the early morning mist on Hungerford Common with the non-stop Paddington to Plymouth run of Pathfinders' 'The Western Challenger' on 7th May 2016. As appearances suggest, it is steadily gaining time on schedule on the Berks & Hants line after right time passage through Reading.
