The 10:26 Whatley Quarry to Hanwell Bridge Loop has spent 20 minutes on Hungerford Common waiting for a late-running service from Plymouth. Even so it is on time getting back into its stride a couple of miles further on at Kintbury with both Class 66/6 No. 66618 and Class 66/4 No. 66415 involved in hauling this 4000 and tonne load of aggregates on 27th June 2024. As the last of four trains in not-so-quick succession, the length of the traffic jams on either side of the crossing can well be imagined.
