Kintbury is a small village in the Kennet Valley bypassed by the A4 trunk road on the other side of the flood plain, access to which is provided by a level crossing over the busy Berks and Hants line. Class 800 No. 800027 rushes through at high speed with the 10:35 London Paddington to Exeter St Davids on 27th June 2024. Passenger services here are mostly provided by Class 165 DMUs working out to Bedwyn. Eastbound travellers from the village face a challenge if they fail to beat the barriers for an arriving service, in the absence of a footbridge crossing to the far platform.
