On withdrawal from BR, Southern Railway Schools Class 4-4-0 No. 928 'Stowe' was rescued for preservation at the Beaulieu Motor Museum. A later transfer took it to the East Somerset Railway at Cranmore in the 1970s, and it is seen here on the shed on 9th April 1977.
